With the minivan loaded up, we pulled out of Temple Hills this morning around 7:45 -about 45 minutes later than planned - but we were all smiles and ready for our adventure. Our sights were on the Creation Museum - right outside of Cincinatti. The kids (Big Runcie included :) were reved up about the robotic dinosaurs.
Right before we got there, the skies filled with some of the darkest storm clouds I have ever seen. (I was seriously looking for that infamous hook that comes down at the beginning of the tornado - then Runcie reminded me that it really wasn't the time - or place for a tornado- but I did turn on local radio just to play it safe).

The museum was far better than I ever imagined. At the beginning we watched a satyrical film that started of with shooting stars that moved throughout the night sky - Elizabeth exclaimed, "Tinkerbell!!!" The stars then turned into modern day angels (Michael and Gabriel, of course - complete with white overalls and digitally enhanced wings). Later as we were pulling out of the parking lot, we were all discussing our favorite things. Elizabeth piped up, "I liked those boys with the wings."

The robotic dinosaus were pretty effective - with breathing and all its sounds, as well as life like movements. The kids were quite suspicious of them - and really didn't take their eyes off of them (possibly for fear that they might really be alive).
We had so much fun today - and we're headed of for Pittsburgh early in the morning - it's only 8:20, and I the only one not in bed!!
